Why are discovery results not displayed immediately after a discovery has completed?

After I run a discovery in Hyperview I check the discovery report and not all of the expected devices are displayed. When I review the discovery results at a later time, the remaining devices I expected to see in the list are now displayed. Why don't I see the full list of discovered devices immediately on the discovery results page?

Discoveries in Hyperview work in two parts. The first step of discoveries is when the Data Collector scans the network and retrieves sensor and property data from devices. The second part of discoveries is the Data Analyzer tasks to parse through the collected data and run jobs to create the device in the system. It may take some time for devices to populate and appear in the discovery report because the Data Analyzer is still processing the devices. If you check the discovery results immediately after a discovery has completed, then there is a chance that the Data Analyzer has not caught up yet. It is recommended to give the discovery results some time to show accurate device information.

Discovery Status
The "Discovery Completed" status message in Hyperview only relates to the Data Collector status step of the discovery. When the Data Collector has completed the network scan and retrieval of device information, then this status will be displayed. Currently, there is no status indication for the second step of the discovery process involving the Data Analyzer jobs that are running to create the assets in the system.
