I am following the documented instructions for installing a Hyperview data collector, but it is still failing to install. What are some common reasons why the data collector installer is failing?

There are several potential causes for a Hyperview data collector failing to install. Here are the most common reasons why.
The wrong installer is being ran.
Run the data collector setup instead of the data collector MSI. The data collector setup file includes the bootstrapped prerequisite datapacks and services that are necessary for the Hyperview data collector to install properly. The data collector MSI installer will only install the Hyperview data collector and not check for any prerequisites.
There are conflicts with other windows services.
There may be another windows service or application that is utilizing resources that the Hyperview data collector needs in order to install and run. See the list of services below that may be impacting the installation.
WinPcap - A driver that extends the operating system to provide low-level network access. If another tool is utilizing this driver, then the Hyperview data collector is likely to fail installation or stop running.
Windows SNMP Trap Listener Service - A Windows service that is disabled by default. Hyperview data collector installs its own SNMP Trap Listener service. This service leverages the same ports as the Windows SNMP Trap Listener and may fail installation if the Windows SNMP Trap Listener is enabled and active.
The user doesn't have rights to the given installation directory.
It is recommended that the Hyperview data collector is installed as an Administrator user. If another user account is installing the services, and that user doesn't have rights to install at the specified installation directory, then the installer will fail.
